Obituary

Paula Gambrell Canfield, 54, of 42 Oakridge Place, Abbeville, wife of Tyler Canfield, passed away Wednesday, May 15,2019 at Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont.

Born in Anderson, she was a daughter of David Larry Gambrell and Carolyn Jean Leak. Paula attended Beulah Baptist Church. She graduated from Tri-County Technical College with registered nursing degree. She was employed by Noridian Healthcare Solutions as a clinical review specialist and was an emergency room nurse in Anderson, Abbeville, and Greenwood for more than 30 years. Paula loved animals and working with crafts. She was a loving wife and a devoted friend to all she knew.

Surviving in addition to her husband of the home; her father of Lincolnton GA; her mother and stepfather, Levene Leak of Anderson are two sisters, Teresa Holbrooks (David) of Fair Play and Tonya Durham of Anderson and special niece and nephews, Bailey and Brett Durham and Nicholas and Adam Holbrooks.

She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Geanie Callaham and Ruby Nell Cheek.

Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at Beulah Baptist Church, 2066 Highway 72 East, Abbeville, SC 29620, with the Rev. Craig Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Oakbrook Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Derek Kinney, Brett Durham, Nicholas Holbrooks, Scott Wolfe, Major Smith, and Brandon Johnson.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Harley Funeral Home and Crematory.
