Penny Marie Peterson Dubuque, 79, of Greenwood and formerly of Seattle, wife of Joseph Dubuque, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at her home.
Born on May 12, 1945, in Wareham, MA, she was the daughter of the late Orville Oliver Peterson and Phyllis Marie Amundson Peterson.
Penny's life was filled with love, laughter, and joy. She enjoyed traveling with her family to destinations both near and far. Some of her favorites were South Africa and Italy. Be it stateside or internationally, Penny took in the wonders of the world. She adored her beloved fur baby, Maggie, and avidly played bridge with friends. Her holiday tradition of baking Spritz cookies for Joe's work colleagues was a demonstration of her giving and thoughtful nature. A talented gardener and member of the Greenwood Gardener Club, Penny's green thumb led her to achieve her title as a Master Gardener. She dedicated her time to volunteering at the Food Pantry in her church, Immanuel Lutheran Church. Penny's involvement in charitable causes extended to her former membership in the Sertoma Club in Greenwood. A woman of many talents and a heart full of generosity, Penny's memory will live on through the lives she touched and the joy she brought to those around her.
She is survived by her husband, Joe; children, Melissa Dubuque and Peter Dubuque; and brother, Lee A. Peterson.
She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Joe Beckham.
