Perry �Slick� Hasting, Jr., 84, of 504 Bolt Avenue, husband of Annette Reardon Hasting, died Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Saluda Nursing Center. Born in Greenwood, he was the son of the late Perry and Sallie Horne Hasting. He retired from Metromont Concrete Company and was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. Slick was a member of New Market Baptist Church and Willing Workers Sunday School Class. Surviving are his wife of the home; two daughters, Roxie Hasting of Greenwood and Grayce H. Ozment (Larry) of Burlington, NC; a sister, Mary Alice Berry of Saluda; a sister-in-law, Virginia Hastings of Greenwood; a special friend, Thad Duncan of Greenwood; a granddaughter, Brooke Hasting of Burlington, NC; a great grandson, Braden Hasting of Burlington, NC; and a beloved little Buddy, Jack. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Deidra Lyn Hasting. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to New Market Baptist Church; 906 Ninety Six Hwy, Greenwood, 29646. The Family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. David Riley, and the nurses and staff of the Saluda Nursing Center, most specifically the Wise Wing. The family is at the home.
