Wayman C. "Pete" Strawhorn, 82, of Hodges, husband of Betty Hodges Strawhorn, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at his home.

Born in Ware Shoals, he was the son of the late Geames Wayman Strawhorn and Statia Daniel Strawhorn. Pete retired from Suburban Gas Company and was a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church. He was a simple man who enjoyed staying home spending time with his loving family and having a good home cooked meal, especially catfish.

He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Micheal McAllister and Brandon McAllister; and a son-in-law, Mike Perry.

Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are his children, Sherry Terry (Steve), Lynn Perry, Keith Strawhorn (Susie), Bryan Strawhorn and Wendy Derrick (Shad); a sister, Gertrude Mason; grandchildren, Alyssa Derrick, Kasey McAllister, Heather Shockley, Amy Strange, Kayla Cooper, Austin Strawhorn, Amber McGuffin, Ashlan Strawhorn and Dayton Derrick; fourteen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren with another on the way.

Graveside services will be held at 11am on Friday, April 26, 2024, at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
