Phillip �Unc� League, 84, of 1830 Emerald Road, widower of Alice Norris League, died Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Simpsonville, he was a son of the late Thomas Clarence and Evelyn Humphries League. He was retired from Reigel Textiles and was a US Army veteran of World War II, where he was stationed in Germany as a radio operator. Unc was a longtime member of Siloam Baptist Church, where he was known as �The Bubble Gum Man� and formerly taught the Fuller Norris Sunday School Class. For many years, he ministered to the congregation of Siloam by always having the church open and comfortable for worship. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Nancy White and Mary League. He is survived by many special nieces and nephews whom he loved as his own.
