Phyllis Laurene Boozer Johnstone, 76, died Thursday, November 10, 2022 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Raised in Ninety Six, she was a daughter of the late Hance Eugene and Mabel Coleman Boozer. She earned her degree in Education from Winthrop College and spent her career teaching at the high school level, retiring from Wando High School in Mt. Pleasant. Phyllis loved the fellowship of her rook and bridge club friends. She was a member of The Church of the Resurrection and the Daughters of the King.

Phyllis is survived by her son, Drew Johnstone of Greenwood; her granddaughter, Cleo Savannah Floyd-Johnstone of Irmo; her sister, Karen Boozer Williams of Mt. Pleasant; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Hull (John), Tripp Williams (Lauren), Judy Werts, Nancy Herlong and Patrick E. Boozer; great nieces and nephews, Coleman, Benjamin, Annabelle, Amelia, Brent, Brittany, Chad, Tommie, Josh, Christian and Cody; and her close special friend/cousin, Sallie Cromer.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Nicholas Eugene "Nickey" Boozer.

Services will be at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mary Balfour Dunlap officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
