Betty Jean "PJ" Voorhees, 73, of 322 E Cambridge Avenue, companion of Dan Bullock, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont.
Born in Long Branch, NJ, she was the of the late Arnold Franklyn and Eugenia Postels Walker Voorhees. She was a graduate from Lander University, where she received her degree in nursing. She was employed by Self Memorial Hospital as an ICU registered nurse. PJ loved music (especially beach music); shagging; and going to music festivals. PJ always enjoyed getting out in the community and visiting the many friends she made at her regular dining spots.
Surviving in addition to Dan of the home are her best friends, Shirley Werts and Linda Willis Wilson and a host of friends, who were like family.
Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Eldredge Kelley officiating. Burial will follow at Waterloo Methodist Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
