Randy Robert Thompson, 65, of Greenwood, husband of Shari Thompson, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2024 at Self Regional Medical Center. He was accompanied by friends and family at his passing.
Born in Heidelberg, Germany, he was a son of the late Robert Thompson and Elizabeth Spinoso.
Randy had a passion for life. He loved traveling with Shari, often times accompanied by their best traveling buddies, Tracey and Bryan Bedenbaugh. Randy was the ultimate host. He loved preparing gourmet meals for his family and friends. His love for all types of music was evident with the numerous concerts he attended throughout his life. You could typically find Randy at his favorite hangout spot, Flynn's on Maxwell, where he was beloved among the patrons and staff.
A true Gamecock fan, Randy's dedication showed as he rarely missed a home game in 25 seasons. Along with his dedication to the Gamecocks, there was also hardly a day that went by without Randy tuning in to Fox News. He also had a deep appreciation for the arts, with Hamilton being a particularly favorite Broadway show.
