George Ray Corley, 75, of Ninety Six, husband of Cindy Mitchell Corley, passed away Wednesday July 17, 2024 at his home.
Born on February 21, 1949, in Saluda, SC, Ray dedicated his career to automotive repair, first at Corley's Garage in Ninety Six until 2001 and then moved the business to his home shop. It was there that he achieved his crowning glory by winning the Points Championship in 1985-1986. In addition to his love for cars, Ray enjoyed deer and turkey hunting, finding solace in the great outdoors. In his younger years he attended Salvation Army Church in Greenwood.
He is survived by his wife Cindy; sons, Cody Corley (Lana) and Mitchell Corley (Kearstin); stepson, Steven Isbell; sister, Gwen Timms (James); brothers, Ronnie Corley (June) and Jimmy Corley; and grandchildren, Ryder Corley and Celie Corley and his canine guardian, Oreo.
