Hulon Ray Knight, 73, of 106 Thompson Drive, husband of Diane Roark Knight, died Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at his home.
Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Claude Daniel and Emma Rice Knight. Ray received his GED while serving four years in the United States Navy. He acquired an AAS degree in Electronic Engineering Technology from Piedmont Technical College and attended Lander University as a Math Major. He was a licensed private pilot, licensed SC Residential Homebuilder, and Certified Electrician. He was self-employed most of his career, owning and operating convenience stores, restaurants, a trucking company, rental properties and B&R Builders. He was an ATM Technician for Wells Fargo and retired from Security Technology Services, Inc. as a Service Technician.
Ray was preceded in death by siblings, Sarah Carver, Gladys Beardsley, Doris Cox, Christine McCurry, Jimmy Knight, Ralph Knight and Larry Knight.
Ray is survived by his wife of the home; his son, Brian Knight; two grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Emma Knight; four brothers, Uvil Knight, Bobby Knight, Truman Knight and Morris Knight; and several nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held at Ramsey Creek Preserve Cemetery in Westminster.
The family will receive friends at the home on Thursday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.
