Obituary

Ray Duane Woodward, 76, of 116 Amherst Drive, formerly of Erie, PA, widower of Bobbie Jean Whitmire Woodward, of 46 years, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at his home. Born in Meadville, PA, he was the son of the late Milton Wayne Woodward and Ruth Barlow Woodward. Ray was a 1955 graduate of McDowel High School and attended Gannon University. He retired from Kaiser Aluminum Corp. after 42 years where he was Production Superintendent and a member of the International Die Sinkers Association. Ray was a 50 year member of the Perry-Keystone Lodge #392, F. & A.M. and a member of Erepa Grotto. He enjoyed his antique cars and was a member of the Model A Ford Club, Old 96 District. Flying was his lifelong passion. He was a private pilot and a member of Experimental Aircraft Association and the Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association. Ray was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church in Greenwood and former member of Simpson United Methodist Church in Erie, PA. Surviving are his children: Gerald (Cindy) Woodward of Safety Harbor, FL, Linda Woodward of Greenville, Robert (Penny) Woodward of Charlotte, NC, Brian (Darcy) Woodward of Erie, PA and Stacey (John) Wodecki of Greenville; two sisters, Janet (Bob) Sheakley of Cambridge Springs, PA and Carol (Dan) Southworth of Lago Vista, TX; and eight grandchildren, Sarah, Stephen, Allyson, Wesley, Jeffrey, Kelly, Daniel and Matthew Woodward. He was preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn Sue Woodward.
