Raymond "Ray" Lowell Crapo, 78, of Easley, widower of Sheridan Ann Czajkowski Crapo, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at Emerald Gardens.
Born on June 8, 1947, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late W. Lowell Crapo and Martha Clay Crapo.
Ray was a dedicated maintenance engineer at Knoll Furniture Company, where he used his skills to keep things running smoothly. He was also a proud veteran of The United States Air Force, having served his country with honor.
He was a member of 5 Point Church in Easley, where he contributed by serving on the security team. His faith and service to the community were important parts of his life.
Ray had a variety of interests that brought him joy. He loved motorcycles, music, and photography, and he had a deep appreciation for local history. He enjoyed working on cars and took pride in maintaining his property. Whether working outside or riding his John Deere tractor, Raymond found satisfaction in these simple pleasures. His favorite tool was his Stihl chainsaw, which he used often and with care. He enjoyed ending his day in his favorite chair with his cat Suzy (short for Suzuki) in his lap.
He is survived by his sons, Donald Crapo, Jonathan Crapo, and Andrew Crapo; his stepdaughter, Kelley Larson (Alan); his brother, Larry Crapo (Amy); his grandchildren Anya, Liam, and Owen Crapo; and his nephew, Ryan Crapo.
Raymond Lowell Crapo’s life was marked by hard work, dedication, and a love for his hobbies. He will be remembered fondly by those who knew him and loved him.
