Obituary

Richard "Rick" Douglas Moore, 65, of Ninety Six, passed away on April 10, 2025, at his home.

Born in Greenwood, SC, he was a son of the late Clarence and Julia Horne Moore.

Rick worked for many years as a lawn care specialist and had a passion for gardening. He enjoyed spending time in nature, fishing and deer hunting. A gifted mechanic, Rick enjoyed working on cars and had a knack for understanding how things worked. His love for racing, especially NASCAR, took him to the Wareshoals racetrack, where he pursued his passion and shared it with friends and family. He was a "simple man" and will be missed all who knew him.

Rick is survived by his wife of 35 years, Robin Dorn Moore; Brothers, Wayne Moore, Thomas Moore, and Julian Wertz; a sister, Julia Hines (Mark); sisters in law, Lisa Bowick (James), Tina Owens (Joey) and Barbara Dorn; nieces, Breanna Paysinger, Nikki Brewer, Kaelyn Garrison, Halee Owens, Emily Moore, Amber Dorn, and Megan Dorn; nephews, Dwayne Moore (Julie), Patrick Moore (Angela), and their children; great nieces and nephews, Cayden Paysinger, Chanel Stewart, and Kira Paysinger; and fur babies, Riley and Roscoe.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Donnie Ray Moore; brother-in-law, Jay Dorn; and nephew, Gerald Paysinger.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 2:00 PM in Elmwood Cemetery, officiated by Dearyl Wayne Moore Jr. The family will receive friends following the service.
