Bennie Richard "Ricky" McCary, 69, formerly of Ninety Six, SC passed away Monday, June 24, 2024 at his home in Greenwood.

Ricky, a beloved husband, dad, papa, and brother, was a son of the late Bennie Francis McCary and Cedelia Parker Rosinsky. He was a kind man, a friend to many, and loved his family dearly. Ricky was a retiree from Red Seal Measurements (formerly Neptune/Schlumberger) where he had worked since he was 18 years old. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed deer hunting, bass fishing, and riding his motorcycles. He took great joy in worshiping with his church family at Real Life Church.

In addition to his parents, Ricky is preceded in death by his stepfather, Wayne "Ski" Rosinsky and father-in-law, Marion "Zeke" Davenport.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Judy Davenport McCary of Greenwood, his son Jason R. McCary (Marcia) of Royston, Georgia; two grandchildren, Reagan and Gabriel; siblings, Patricia McCary Hoffman (Lewis Barker), Deborah McCary Hatton (Arthur), and Donnie McCary and his mother-in-law, Helen "Grandma" Davenport.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday at Real Life Church in Greenwood SC with Rev. RC Davenport and Rev. Jason R. McCary officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Busha, Michael Cockrell, Jason D. McCary, Rickey Bowie, Ray Turner, John Dorn, Freddie Wideman.

Honorary pallbearers will be Julian McCary, Ronnie McCary, Dickey Cathcart and his great nephews.

The family will receive friends prior to the service at Real Life Church on Thursday from 12pm-2pm.
