Ricky Wayne Sims, 55, of 180 Sid Lee Road, Waterloo, died Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at HopsiceCare of the Piedmont.

Born in Greenwood, he was the son of Mary E. Thompson Sims and the late Barry Keith Sims. Ricky was the former superintendent at Greenwood Cleaners, and was a member of Hyde Park Baptist Church. Ricky was an avid Gamecock fan.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenny Sims.

Surviving in addition to his mother of Greenwood are three daughters, Kimberly Garvin (Rhett) of Childress, TX, Laura Sims and Brentley Sims, both of Greenwood; two sisters, Sonya Goff and Teresa Coffey, both of Greenwood; and four grandchildren, Thomas, Emily, Kalynn, and Taylor Garvin.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm on Thursday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Herman Bradley officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

The family members are at their respective homes.
