Robert William "Rob" Eaton, 51, of 204 Apache Drive, husband of Dana Yeargin Eaton, died Thursday, April 27, 2017.
Born in Racine, WI on January 20, 1966, he was the son of Robert E. "Bob" and Mary Ann "Pinky" Eaton.
Chef Rob found his way to South Carolina from Wisconsin through The Faith Home. Rob was the big, loud guy with a personality to match that lit up any room that he entered. He soon gained employment at the Greenwood Country Club, where he met his loving wife, Dana, who was also employed there. Rob and Dana enjoyed entertaining their friends and family around their backyard fire pit, sharing stories and listening to his favorite 80's music.
Rob's passion for cooking led him to work as a chef in many of the finest restaurants in Greenwood, Wilmington and Milwaukee - Montague's, Inn on the Square, Greenwood Country Club, Chop House, Grenadier's, Hit Hat Lounge, Mimma's Café, just to name a few. He was the owner of Bonham's Backstreet Bar & Grill in Saluda and former owner of Buzzard's Roost Southern Tea House in Ninety Six.
Rob received his culinary education at Milwaukee Area Technical College and scored an externship on the Mediterranean Island of Sicily. He also was a veteran that served in the US Army as a medic and was a member of South Main Street Baptist Church.
Surviving his wife of the home; his parents of Racine, WI; his sisters, Nina Eaton Dumont (John) of Rome, Italy, Meredith Eaton Helgerson of Janesville, WI and Beth Eaton of Milwaukee, WI; his nieces and nephews, Charlie and Hedy Knepler, Sylvie and Lucie Dumont; parents-in-law, O'Neil and Elise Yeargin of Greenwood and his sister-in-law, Debra Yeargin Sumerel (Bobby) of Chappells.
He was preceded in death by his Aunt Doris Eaton, his culinary inspiration, and his beautiful German Shepard, Tanqueray.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Ouzts officiating.
Honorary escort will be his best bros, Kevin Miller, Jamie Brown, T. J. Jenks and David Epps.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1 to 3 p.m.
