Obituary

Robert E. Cooper, Sr., 85, of 6118 Riverfork Road, Waterloo, widower of Mary Seymour Cooper, died Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Self Regional Healthcare.

Born in Laurens, he was a son of the late Robert Lee and Allie S. Anderson Cooper. He retired from Monsanto in 1985 and was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a mason and member of New Beginning Baptist Church in Waterloo.

Surviving are his children, Elizabeth Cothran and Debbie Sprouse, both of Waterloo, Celia Cooper Moore (Todd) of Ninety Six; grandchildren, Bobby Cooper, who was raised in the home, Samuel and Joshua Moore, Amy Pillé and Tracy Falkingham; and a sister, Miriam C. Bagwell of Clemson.

He was preceded in death by a son, Robert "Robbie" E. Cooper, Jr.; sisters, Virginia Davis, Mary McAllister, Sidell Cooper and Patricia Thompson; and brothers, Horace, Wilbur, and Perry Cooper.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Emory officiating.

Honorary escort will be his nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
