Robert "Bobby" R. Pittavino, II was born on Labor Day, September 7, 1970, at Lajes Field Airforce Base in Azores Portugal. On the evening of February 3, 2025, at the age of 54, the lord in his infinite wisdom, grace, love and mercy called him home.
He was the son of Robert R. Pittavino and Roberta Elizabeth Mixson Pittavino Kohli.
Most of Bob's life was spent in Greenwood, SC. He graduated high school in 1988, spent a brief time in the United States Army, and attended Piedmont Technical College and Lander University. Bob loved cooking and serving others. He worked as a sous chef at Self Regional Hospital for 13 years and was on staff as a kitchen coordinator at Faith Home. Bob helped his mom in the kitchen for Kairo's Prison Ministry retreats and numerous church functions at MSUMC where he attended.
Bob is survived by his mom, Roberta P. Kohli; stepfather, James A. Kohli; sister, Rebecca E. Gibson (Rich); son, William R. Pittavino; special friend, Krysel Filo; maternal aunt, Billie Irene Mixson; and two nephews, Justin Gibson and Matthew Gibson. Also leaving behind to cherish his memory are numerous cousins and friends he met along life's course.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William H. and Roberta Davis Mixson; maternal uncle, William H. Mixson aka "Uncle Bill Henry"; maternal aunt, Emmaline McKinnon; and uncle, Joseph McKinnon.
The family would like to extend an expression of heartfelt gratitude to the devoted caregivers, doctors, nurses, and staff of Self Regional Healthcare, Montgomery Family Practice and Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont for their kindness and diligent medical care as Bobby battled the disease of alcoholism.
The family can also never express the comfort received from those who have prayed with them and for them over many years.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
