Robert Walter Richardson, 85, of Bradley, husband of Linda Rush Richardson, passed away at Greenwood Regional Rehab Hospital.
Born on December 19, 1939, in Greenwood, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Walter Jones Richardson and Louise Moore Richardson. A proud graduate of the Class of 1959 from Greenwood High School, Robert began his career with WC Wall Construction Company, where he enhanced his skills in construction. Later, he became a respected insurance agent, embodying a commitment to excellence during his time with Liberty Life, Life of Georgia, and American General. Robert was well-known for advocating tirelessly for his clients, always prioritizing their best interests and needs.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Robert was a true jack-of-all-trades. He had a natural gift for fixing anything he set his mind to, from cars to buildings. In a reflection of his self-independent spirit, he even built his own home, showcasing his remarkable talents and determination.
Robert was an active member of Bold Spring Baptist Church, where he found community and fellowship among his church members. He was known for his generous soul, always seeking ways to help anyone in need, especially his beloved family. His kindness, warmth, and unwavering support will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Linda Richardson of the home; children, Roy Walter Richardson (Donna Marie) and Felicia Richardson Ellison (Perry), both of Greenwood; grandchildren, Ryan Walter Richardson, Zander Richardson, Franklin Ellison, Meghan Richardson, and Alyssa Richardson; and great granddaughter, Phoebe Isabella Lee.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Bold Spring Baptist Church with the Rev. David Turner officiating. Burial will follow at Bold Spring Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Stephen Creswell, Vernon Burke, III, Zander Richardson, Franklin Ellison and Kevin Davis.
Honorary escort will be Johnny Richey.
The family will receive friends before the service from 1:00-2:30 p.m. at the church.
