Roderick Mexwell Stroud, 307 Lamar Avenue, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, March 17, 2011. He was born in Greenville on March 4, 1939 to the late Paul Theodore Stroud, Sr. and Ethel Wilkes Stroud. He was an active member of East Side Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was retired from SC Department of Health (DHEC) in Abbeville and was a US Air Force veteran, serving during the Vietnam Conflict, and served in the Army Reserves. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Hodges Stroud and his son, Dwight Allen Stroud, both of the home; a sister, Reba Stroud Wilson and a brother, Jim Stroud, both of Greenwood. He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Theodore Stroud, Jr., formerly of Camden.
