Rosa Ellen Holmes Proctor, 77, of 437 East Cambridge Ave., passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at NHC Health Care of Greenwood. Born in Greenwood County, she was the daughter of the late Doc and Louise Holmes. Rosa graduated from Lander College with a Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing. She retired from Self Regional Health Care after 49 years of service where she taught Medical Technology and also worked in the Chemistry Lab. Rosa was a member of Tranquil United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Alex Proctor. Surviving are a daughter, Ellen Laughlin and her husband Allen of Greenwood; two grandchildren, Jason Proctor and Kristen Proctor; and a very devoted friend, Mayble Lesley. A special thanks to her caregiver, Valorie Pruitt. Pallbearers will be Gene Thomas, Mark Smith, Jeff Lindley, Jeff Smallwood, Johnny Riser and Stewart McDonald.
