Leroy �Roy� Dickerson, 89, of 162 Callison Drive, husband of Janet �Jan� Cochran Dickerson, died Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Mount Victory, OH, he was the son of the late Lee and Rose Dickerson. Roy was a U. S. Army veteran having served during WWII and was a recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He retired from Jarvis Cutting Tools and was a member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church where he was in the Margaret Henderson Sunday School Class. Roy was preceded in death by a son, David Dickerson. Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are three children, Robert (Angie) Shirk of Greenwood, Joan Dickerson and Bill Shirk, both of Atlanta, GA; nine grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild. Pallbearers will be Bill Hamby, Bill Sizelove, Bill Metts, Earl Wrenn, O�Neil Yeargin and Clifton Eakin. Honorary escort will be the members of the Margaret Henderson Sunday school class.
