Roy L. Smith, Jr., 77, of 407 Northside Drive East, husband of Maria �Mary� Gonzales Smith, died Sunday, December 23, 2012 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Saluda, he was a son of the late Roy L. Smith, Sr. and Jennie Dorn Smith Stodgell. He was retired from General Motors and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving is his wife of the home; sons, Robert Smith of Waterford, MI, Gary Smith of Pontiac, MI, Ernest Smith (Cheryl) of St. Petersburg, FL, Thomas Smith of Greenwood and Jeffrey Smith (Kenya) of Pontiac, MI; a sister, Deannie Smith of Owensboro, KY; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
