Roy Franklin Whitt, Sr., 93, formerly of Hillcrest Drive, Greenwood, husband of Mary Frances Crowe Whitt, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2025.

Born in Townville, he was a son of the late Cooley Whitt and Viola Dixon Whitt. Roy was a US Navy veteran having served on the USS Bryce Canyon during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Greenwood Mills after 42 ½ years of service and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Roy was a member of Woodfields Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by siblings, Virginia Whitt, Martha Shirley, John Cooley Whitt and Joseph B. Whitt; and by a granddaughter.

Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are his children, Donna Jennings, Peggy DeLoach (Robert), Joyce Gambrell, Missy Harrison (Brad) and Roy F. "Chip" Whitt, Jr (Robin); nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at Harley Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Drew Gaylord, Matt DeLoach, Dylan DeLoach, Hunter DeLoach, Brad Harrison and Rette Miller.
The family will receive friends before the service at the funeral home from 12-1pm.
