Royce Lane Barnes, 56, of 93 Fourth Street, husband of Jackie Hughes Barnes, died Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at Hospice House. Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Lee and Ruby Gregory Barnes. He was employed by Greenwood Mop and Broom and was a member of Grace Community Church. Royce was an avid Clemson fan, enjoyed Nascar, was a loyal Dale Earnhardt, Jr. fan and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving is his wife of the home; children, Amy Hughes (Brent Allen) and Todd Hughes (Candice Bice), all of Greenwood; sisters, Diane Peppers (Phil) and Joyce Disedare (Carl), both of Bradley and Debra Turner of Greenwood; brothers, Ronnie Barnes and Jerry Barnes (Ann), both of Greenwood and Ricky Barnes (Kathy) of Seneca; grandchildren, twins Taylor and Kaylen Watts, John Speight (raised in the home) and McKenzie Hughes; sister-in-law, Yvonne Hughes and brothers-in-law, Russell Hughes (Ann), Daniel Hughes (Crystal), Donald Hughes and Robert Hughes, all of Greenwood and his faithful black lab, Belle. He was preceded in death by brothers, Johnny Barnes and Billy Ray Barnes and his brother-in-law, Steven Hughes.
