Ruby Virginia Stanley Akers, formerly of Johns Creek Road, Hodges, widow of William Clyde Akers, Sr. died Saturday, July 29, 2017 at NHC of Clinton.
Born in Big Four, WV, she was the daughter of the late James Walter Stanley and Marie Collie Stanley. Ruby was a former bookkeeper with Discount Furniture and was a member of Greenwood Wesleyan Church.
She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Roxanne Akers along with a brother and sister.
Surviving are her children, Jeff Akers, Belinda Manley (Marty) both of Hodges and William Clyde Akers, Jr. (Karen), of Ninety Six; five grandchildren, William Akers, III, Brent Akers (Brittany), both of Ninety Six, April Timms (Donovan), Marcus Manley, both of Hodges and Blair Manley; and five great grandchildren, Blanton Akers, Ansleigh Akers, both of Ninety Six, Walker Akers of Pickens, Brantley Bailey of Lexington and one expected in December.
Services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday at Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jonathan Payne officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be William Akers, III, Brent Akers, Marcus Manley, Marty Manley, Donovan Timms and Brandon Bailey.
The family will receive friends before the service at the funeral home from 10 to 11 am.
The family is at the home of her daughter Belinda Manley, 201 Farmdale Road, Hodges.
