Ruby Cobb Dowis, 97, of 100 Saluda Street, Ninety Six, SC, widow of Fred M. Dowis, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Hospice House. Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Cecile Farmer Radford and step father John Radford. Ruby was a member of First Baptist Church in Ninety Six. She is survived by two sons, Dr. Joe M. Dowis and his wife Janet of Seneca, John A. Dowis and his wife Brenda of Ninety Six; a daughter-in-law, Mary W. Dowis, widow of Ruby�s predeceased son F. Donald Dowis; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Fisher, Tommy Eddy, Neal Womack, Sam Corley, Donnie Dowis, Joe John Dowis and Ted Collins. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the building fund of First Baptist Church of Ninety Six, Po Box 85, Ninety Six, SC 29666 or to HospiceCare of the Piedmont, 408 West Alexander Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29646.
