Ruby Frances Bailey Hodges, 90, of Hodges, South Carolina entered into her eternal rest on November 14, 2023, surrounded by family.
Born April 16, 1933, to the late Charlie Bailey and Allie Mae Davidson. Ruby was a member of Mary Pickney Ouzts #1 Order of the Eastern Star and a member of Northside Baptist Church. She retired from Connie Maxwell Children's Home where she served as a house parent. Ruby was beloved by all that met her. She had a fierceness to her that could not be rivaled. She was a loving mother and had the chance to instill her love and wisdom into five generations. She was "Nanny" to everyone who met her.
Ruby leaves behind a huge loving family that will miss her deeply, her brother A.L. Bailey of Ninety Six, SC and sister Jean Ealum, of Alabama, her five remaining children, Patricia Bonner and Danny Ray Harris, both of the home, Shirley Loftis, Ruby Ward (Jimmy), and Jerry Wayne Harris, all of Greenwood, SC. Multiple grandchildren – Mickey Samples, of Pelzer, SC, Mechele "Missy" Wooten, of Simpsonville, SC, Amanda McVicker (Dwayne), of Georgetown, SC, Emmie Hayes (Thomas), of Colorado, Jamie Ouzts (Toby), Darris Ward, Tracy Harris, Casey Harris, Alexis Earle (Eric), Brittany Young, Dezaraye Young, Connor Harris, Eric Harris and Nate Harris, all of Greenwood, SC. Many great-grandchildren – Brandie Arnold (Michael) of Gray Court, SC, Trent Franklin (Kimberly) of Lexington, SC, Jessica Miller (Blake) of Ware Shoals, SC, Ryan Franklin (Hannah) of Ninety Six, SC, Riley Moore (Dustin) of Abbeville, SC, Kayla Williams (Storm) and James "JR" Ward (Loren), both of Greenwood, SC, a multitude of great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved twin sons, Charles and Ernest Harris, two brothers and a sister.
Graveside service will be Friday, November 17, 2023, at Greenwood Memorial Gardens at 3 PM.
The family will be at the home of daughter, Ruby Ward, 207 Agnew Rd, Greenwood, SC 29649.
The family would like to thank Heather, Meg and Jennifer with the care that they provided to Ruby in her final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made in Ruby's name to Connie Maxwell Children's Home or Hospice & Palliative Care of the Piedmont.
