Russell Louis Crawford, 98, of 105 Cothran Drive, husband of Ethelyn Haywood Crawford, died Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at his home. Born in Thomas County, GA, he was a son of the late Nathan Wilberforce and Ida Eleanor Hoss Crawford. He was retired from Bi-Lo and was the oldest living active member of North Side Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Good News Sunday School Class. Russell was an avid fisherman and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Surviving is his wife of 75 years; three daughters, Sandra Crawford of Summerville, Cindy Carlson (Ted) of Savannah, GA and Lauren Croxton of Swansea; a sister, Eleanor Martin of Miami, FL; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and a great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rosalyn Simmons; two sisters and six brothers.
