Ruth Evelyn Stockbridge Garvey, 96, widow of Edmond R. Garvey, died Sunday, January 24, 2010 at Hospice House. Born in Concord, MA, she was a daughter of the late Rupert Micah and Bertha Mabel Colley Stockbridge. She was a graduate of Bryant-Stratton College and studied voice at the Berkley School of Music. She was employed by the US State Department, where she served as vice council. She was a member of the D.A.R., the Chrysanthemum Garden Club and The Study Club. She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Mason Sunday School Class, was a member, past president and past district officer of the UMW and was a former member of the chancel choir. Surviving are two daughters, Jo Ann Ruth Conti and her husband, Philip, of Ellicott City, MD and Suzanne Camille Gauron and her husband, Scott, of Seabrook, NH; six grandchildren, Kathryn Conti, Michael Conti and his wife, Melissa, Lauren Conti Dunckley and her husband, Sean, Scott Gauron, Jr., Kelsey Gauron and Gregory Gauron; a great grandson, Alexander Gauron and a niece, Ruth S. Atkins and her husband, Ken, of Clemson.
