Ruth Elizabeth Ouzts Peurifoy, 96, beloved daughter, wife and mother, formerly of 802 Truett Street, passed away on Wednesday November 24, 2010 at Wesley Commons Nursing facility, Greenwood, SC after more than thirteen years in nursing homes. Born on October 5, 1914 to loving parents Mr. Daniel Bell Ouzts and Mrs. Minnie Wood Ouzts in Ninety Six, SC, she was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband Mr. Clyde Edward Peurifoy; and loving sister and brothers, Mrs. Thelma Ouzts Hand, Mr. Lewis Ouzts, and Mr. Daniel Rhett Ouzts. She is survived by two loving sons and daughters-in-law; Edward Ronald Peurifoy (Inez Walker) and Charles Kenneth Peurifoy (Gail Smila); granddaughters, Laura K. Peurifoy and Rachel D. Peurifoy; two loving sisters, Mrs. Odessa Ouzts Cook, of Edgefield, SC and Mrs. Dorothy Ouzts Wofford and husband Mr. Henry Wofford of Johnston, SC. Ruth graduated from Ninety Six High School and married Clyde on Christmas Eve 1932. They were both long time and faithful employees of Greenwood Mills. Ruth retired from the Durst Plant as an inspector in the Cloth Room in 1979. Ruth was a devoted Christian who dearly loved her Lord Jesus and was a long-time, faithful member of Callie Self Memorial Baptist Church. She was the sweetest person anyone could ever meet, never had a harsh word for anyone, was a very loyal and loving wife, and the best, most loving Mother her sons could ever hope to have. She will always be remembered for her sayings, �And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.� (Romans 8:28), and �Time heals everything.�
