Ruth Wimberly Roberts, 82, formerly of 106 End Street, Ninety Six, widow of Jerry Lee Roberts, died Thursday, October 18, 2012 at J. F. Hawkins Nursing Home, Newberry. Born in Ringgold, LA, she was a daughter of the late Sawyer and Minnie Pate Wimberly. She was retired from Monsanto after twenty-three years of service where she also received a perfect attendance award. Ruth was a member of Ninety Six First Baptist Church where she was in the Ebbie McCarthy Sunday school class and the Sonshiners. She was preceded in death by six siblings. Surviving are her daughter, Debra O�Sullivan (Ed) of Easley; four sons, Jack Roberts (Debbie), Jerry Lee Roberts, III. (Judy), James Roberts and Jeff Roberts (Lisa), all of Ninety Six; a brother, Sawyer Robert Wimberly, Jr., of Atlanta, TX; seven grandchildren, including three granddaughters, Brittany Page, Lesllie O�Sullivan and Chesney Williams; a step-granddaughter, Josie Burden of Saluda; and eight great grandchildren. The family is at the home of her son, Jack Roberts, 1 Roxanna Drive, Ninety Six. The family has requested that flowers be omitted and memorials be made to Ninety Six First Baptist Church, PO Box 85, Ninety Six, SC 29666.
