Ruth Cooper Rush, 92, of 203 Old Chapin Road, Lexington and formerly of Greenwood, widow of Henry E. �Jack� Rush, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 1, 2011. Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late William F. and Minnie Ward Cooper. She retired from Self Memorial Hospital as a ward secretary and was a member of the Acuminose Club and the Mary Pinckney Ouzts Chapter, OES. She was a member of Harris United Methodist Church and the Cooper-Reed Sunday School Class. Surviving are three daughters, Nancy R. Geib and her husband, Kurt, of Lexington; Judy R. Merritt and her husband, Bill, of Columbia and Linda R. Richitelli of Lexington; a special friend, Joey Jamros of Greenwood; a sister, Blanche Sligh of Greenwood; grandchildren, Joanna Geib Trauger, Matt Geib, Claire Merritt and Kathleen Merritt; a great grandson, Cooper Trauger; nieces raised in the home, Irene Tolbert and her husband, Morris, of Greenwood and Clara Culbertson and her husband, Howard, of Taylors. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Marie Thompson, Margaret Drummond, Lilly Mae McKinney and Lois Jenkins and brothers, James E. Cooper and Walter L. Cooper and a foster brother, Phillip Ward.
