Ruth Franks Smith, 77, widow of Curtis C. Smith, died Sunday, October 22, 2023 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born in Kite, GA, she was a daughter of the late William Pink and Tempie Ruth Franks. She retired from Piedmont Technical College, where she was the director of Help Desk Services in the IT department and had worked for Monsanto for almost 18 years prior to that. She was a member of P.E.O. Women's Club and Harris Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School.

She is survived by two sons, Daryl Smith of Greenwood and Brian Smith of the home; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Madison Franks and William Wendell Franks.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Harris Baptist Church with the Rev. Frank Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends before the service from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. at the church.
