Mattie Ruth Evans Teasley, 84, of 218 Jackson Avenue, widow of Hugh Wallace Teasley, died Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born in Hartwell, GA, she was a daughter of the late J. C. and Loudell Thompson Evans. Ruth retired from Greenwood Mills where she was a member of the Quarter Century Club. She was a member of First Mount Moriah Baptist Church where she helped in the nursery.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Glenn Smith and a great granddaughter, Jessica Diane Upton.

Surviving are three daughters, Merri Upton (Gary), Cynthia Smith and Denise Teasley, all of Greenwood; a sister, Jean Ouzts (Rufus) of Seneca; five grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 pm on Monday at Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bryant Sims officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Matt Gilbert, Jerry Carmack, Wallace Upton, Gerald Upton, Thomas Upton and A. J Upton.

The family will receive friends Sunday at the funeral home from 6 to 8 pm.
