Born on June 29, 1925 in Louisville, OH to Fred and Ida Schwall, she has one surviving sister, Ida Prendes of Louisville, OH, and one brother, Thomas Schwall of Ontario, OH. Preceding her to eternity were brothers, Fred Kirby Schwall and Jack Schwall, and sister, Jean Karcher.

Sally graduated from Louisville High School and married Carl in1946 and lived in married student housing at Mount Union College. It was on to East Sparta, OH until 1961when they moved to Chardon, OH settling in the Bass Lake Community. Following retirement, Savannah Lakes Village became their final home. Sally recently reflected about how happy her life has been and how Bass Lake and Savannah Lakes were the best places in the world to live. Sally enjoyed gardening, playing bridge, cooking for family and friends, and until recently, golfing. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
