Sara Peurifoy Herring Worley, 94, resident of Wesley Commons, died Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Hospice House. Born in Saluda County on December 23, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Brooks Peurifoy and Sarah Christine Proctor Peurifoy Childs. She was a nurses� aide with Anderson Memorial Hospital and was Protestant. Surviving is her daughter-in-law, Cynthia R. Herring of Greenwood; her grandson, Jeffrey Lee Herring and his wife, Janice, of Greenwood; a sister, Mable Johnson of Elberton, GA; a brother, the Rev. Harvey O. Peurifoy of Greenwood; four great grandchildren, Amy Rene Herring, Anastasia (Mrs. Jason) Allen and Kemp Ashley, all of Greenwood and Jamie Ashley of Texas; four great great grandchildren, Zachary Herring, Isabella Herring, Joshua Allen and Katie Allen, all of Greenwood. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Slonie Lee Herring and Walter J. Worley; her son, Jerry Lee Herring; a sister, Maude Spearman Warren; three brothers, Clyde, Thomas and James Peurifoy and a half brother, W. L. Childs.
