Sarah M Alverson, 97, of 6818 Hwy 25 S., widow of Lawrence F. Alverson, died Sunday, March 29, 2015 at her home. Born in Fountain Inn, she was a daughter of the late John T. and Nannie May Brown Meeks. She retired from Greenwood Mills � Mathews Plant, a member of the Quarter Century Club, and a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church. Surviving are three sisters, Nellie Leathers of Altamonte Springs, FL, Vera Armstrong of Gray Court, and Rose Burden of Laurens; a granddaughter, Wendy Powers (Mike) of Ninety Six; a great granddaughter, Jodi Wilson (Casey) of Ninety Six; and two great-great granddaughters, Kelley Wilson and Charli Wilson both of Ninety Six. She was preceded in death by two children, Betty Z. Leroy and Eugene H. Leroy; a sister, Cornelia Carithers; a brother, J.W. Meeks Pallbearers will be Tommy Meeks, Johnny Meeks, Byron Williams, Ed Suddeth, Dennis Clark, and Casey Wilson.
