Obituary

Sarah Spires Harrison Kinney, 95, formerly of 502 Coksebury Road, widow of C. M. Kinney passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at Morningside. Born in Lincolnton, GA, she was the daughter of the late Simeon and Minnie Vickery Spires. Sarah retired from Greenwood Mills- Adams Plant after 34 years of service and she was in the Quarter Century Club. She was a former member of Galloway United Methodist Church and a member of Lowell Street United Methodist Church. Sarah loved flowers, she enjoyed cooking for her friends and neighbors who were shut-ins and she enjoyed sewing and quilting for her family. She was twice married, first to the late Goodwin Harrison and was preceded in death by a daughter, Jewell Kinney; a brother, W. Woodrow Spires, a half sister, Elsie Reed; and a half brother, Harry Spires. Sarah was the last surviving of her immediate family. Surviving are a daughter, Bonnie McCombs and her husband, Larry; a son, Gary Harrison and his wife Mary; three grandsons, Thomas L. McCombs, Jr. (Taunya), Martin Harrison (Kelly) and Travis McCombs (Alicia), all of Greenwood; and six great grandchildren, Arron McCombs, Thomas L. McCombs, III, Zack Harrison, Brecken Harrison, Jenna McCombs, Ethan McCombs; and a great-great granddaughter, Taylor McCombs. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons. Memorials may be sent to Lowell Street United Methodist Church, 300 Lowell Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29646 or to a charity of one�s choice. The family is at their respective homes.
