Sarah Edna McDade, 97, of 219 Georgia Avenue, widow of Rufus Clarence McDade, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont.

Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late James and Evelyn Thrift Wilson. She formerly attended South Greenwood Pentecostal Holiness Church. Sarah kept all her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and neighborhood children and was known as "Nanny" to all. She loved puzzles, jigsaw, and word.

Surviving are her daughters, Gail Davis (Jerry) and Bobbie Stevens (Jerry); grandchildren, David Stevens, Scott Stevens, Chad Davis, Brian McDade, Carmen Edwards, and Kristi Davis; sister, Jo Lee Mahaffey; nine great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, James McDade; four sisters; and two brothers.

Graveside services will be held at 3 pm on Friday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Family members are at their respective homes.
