Sarah Frances Taylor, 96, of Ninety-Six, wife of Al Bailey, passed away, Tuesday, August 25, 2026.
Born in Modoc, SC, on April 3, 1930, she was a daughter of William Dozier Brown and Alice Singleton Brown.
Sarah was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she found comfort and strength in her relationship with the Lord. She was the last surviving member of her family.
Sarah was a woman of strength, dedication, and love. A true hard worker, she spent many years as a weaver with Greenwood Mills, where she took great pride in her work. She believed in doing things the right way and never hesitated to give her best to whatever was placed before her.
Her greatest joy, however, was her family. Sarah loved her family, above all else, they were truly her world. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who treasured every moment spent with the people she loved. You could often find her outside in her garden, tending to her flowers and enjoying the simple beauty of nature. She loved working with her hands and taking care of her flowers, watching them bloom and bringing beauty to her home. Sarah took great pride in her flowers and enjoyed spending time outside caring for them.
Sarah will be remembered for her hardworking spirit, her generous heart, and most of all, the deep love she had for her family. Though she will be greatly missed, her love will continue to live on through the family she cherished so dearly.
She is survived by her husband, Al Bailey, sons, Barry Standridge (Betty), Butch Pate (Debbie), and Tim Pate, stepchildren; Judith C. Oglesby (James), Samuel M. Wasson (Kat), Michael P. Wasson (Lauren), grandchildren; Scott Standridge, Brook Pate (Jack), Andrew Thomas Pate, step grandchildren; Grayson Oglesby, Leonie J. Wasson, and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by grandsons, Timothy Justin Pate, and Chas Standridge, sisters; Lizzie Mae Brock, Thelma Brown, Inez McKinney, and Florence Harrison, brothers; Him Brown, Leroy Brown, Claude Brown, Colie Brown, Nick Brown, Clyde Brown, and Charles Brown.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Harley Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Scott Standridge, Jayce Pate, and Jack Knight.
The family will receive friends before the service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
