Selma Orene Rush Macy, 85, of 1225 Mathis Road, widow of Glen Martin Macy, died Monday, April 6, 2009 at Hospice House. Born in Callison, she was a daughter of the late Henry Eugene and Effie Janelle Hinton Rush. She was a graduate of Lander College, received her Masters Degree from the University of South Carolina and her EdS degree from Clemson University. Mrs. Macy was a teacher in Greenwood School District 50 and principal of Grenola School. She was a member of the Teacher�s Association and South Main Street Baptist Church. Surviving is a daughter, Janet Macy of Boston, MA; a son, Paul Martin Macy of Greensboro, NC; a sister, Neutrice Rush of Port Washington, NY; a brother, Carson Rush of Greenwood and step grandchildren, Anthony Macy of Greensboro, NC and Travis Lee Rush Macy of New York. She was preceded in death by sisters, Eunice Rush and Mayzelle Rush Vanadore and a brother, Jack Rush.
