Sharon Poole Giles, 82, of Callison, passed away peacefully at the Hospice House on October 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Six Mile, SC on July 19, 1943, Sharon was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frances M. Whitlock. She will be remembered for her loving kindness, unwavering strength and fun-loving free spirit.

Sharon graduated from Wade Hampton High School and went on to a career as a teacher at Edgewood Middle School in Ninety Six. She married James "Jimmy" Giles on October 13, 1991, and together they helped raise five grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with family and anything outdoors including gardening, camping and afternoon walks with her dog Sukie.

She is survived by her son Jeffrey Poole (Amy), daughter Mimi Taylor, sisters, Suzanne Robinson (Lee) and Donna McCormick (Dave) and grandchildren Luke Poole, Katie Poole, Claire Poole, Jackson Taylor, and Giles Taylor.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, and sister, Judy Murr.

A memorial service will be held at Good Shepherd Catholic Church on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of the Piedmont.
