Obituary

Sheila Ann Redd Tripp, 54, of 308 West Scotch Cross Road, wife of David Tripp, passed away Saturday, October 2. 2021 at Spartanburg Medical Center.

Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late G.T. Whitman and Freida Perry Redd. She was employed with Lonza(formerly Capsugel) for over 30 years and served on the board of directors for the Boy Scouts of American Blueridge Council.

Surviving are her husband, David, of the home; her loving stepmother, Janice Tucker; her children, Dwight Whittaker (Jami) of Travelers Rest, Bryan Maddox of Ninety Six, and Nick Tripp of Greenwood; sisters, Laurie Rush (Bob), Georgia Hembree (Kevin), Misty Butler (Glenn), all of Greenwood, and Candie Whitman (Charlie) of Belton; brothers, Mike Redd (Deri) of Hodges, Robert Crosby of Charleston, and Jeff Redd of Ninety Six; two grandchildren, McKinley Houghtaling and Cassius Whittaker; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kevin Hembree officiating.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
