Shirley Mae Bonds Butler, 74, of 1224 Ninety Six Highway, widow of Thomas D. Butler, died Friday, December 10, 2010 at Hospice House. Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late Thurman Bonds and Zula Beauford Bonds Ashmore. Mrs. Butler worked for Sky City, K-Mart and Greenwood Nursing Home now NHC Healthcare as a CNA for eight years. She was a charter member of Restoration Ministries where she started the children�s church in the late 60�s and was a Sunday school teacher in the early 70�s. Surviving are her son, Danny Thomas Butler of Greenwood; a sister, Patsy Tiller Evans of Greenwood; a step brother, Rev. Pierce Ashmore of GA; nieces, Sharon Cooke, Tammy Donaldson, Brunelle Butler, Becky Corbin, and Brenda Christian all of Greenwood; nephews, Ronald Butler, Darren Tiller, Tommy Butler, Tony Butler, all of Greenwood, Terry Bonds of Lincolnton, GA, Randy Butler of Woodbridge, VA and Keith Butler of Lawrenceville, GA; and two great nieces, Sara Donaldson and Donnis Cooke, both of Greenwood Pallbearers will be Sam Burkett, Mike Knight, Jack Horne, Mike Weeks, Terry Bonds, Wayne Brown, Darren Tiller and Ronald Butler. Honorary escort will be the Silver Wings Senior Ministries and the Senior Ladies Sunday School Class. It was Mrs. Butler�s wishes that the members of the Silver Wings Senior Ministries wear their silver wings that she made in her memory. The family is at the home.
