Shirley Clem Motte, of Greenwood, widow of Wilburn Lee "Preacher" Motte, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2024, at her home.
Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late Cecil and Myra Horne Clem. Shirley retired from Greenwood Mills and adored flowers and gospel music. She was a friend to all, young and old, and her warm and welcoming nature endeared her to everyone she met. Shirley's family held a special place in her heart, and her adoration for her grandsons shining through in every interaction. A devout Christian, she attended Augusta Highway Baptist Church. Her faith was unwavering, and she was a devoted member of her church, finding strength in her Lord and Savior.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl Clem and Boyce Clem.
Surviving are her son, Ken "Tiny" Bearden (Cheryl) of Troy; a sister, Brenda Lindley; a former daughter-in-law, Nanci L. Bearden Dixon; three grandsons, Justin Bearden, Joshua Bearden (Krystal) and Jordan Bearden; and great grandsons, Wylder, Sawyer and Coltor Bearden.
Services will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Ouzts officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home before the service from 12 noon-1 pm.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a charity of ones choice.
