Shirley Dennett Skeen, 88, of 608 Grand Harbor Blvd., Ninety Six, SC, widow of James Allen Skeen, died Thursday, January 8, 2015 at NHC of Laurens. Born in Presque Isle, ME, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Margery Rand Dennett. Shirley was a member of both St. Lawrence Episcopal Church, Libertyville, IL and Resurrection Episcopal Church, Aston, PA. Surviving are three daughters: Meri Finocchi of Ninety Six, SC, Sheri Smothers of Wilmington, NC and Lori Powers of Windermere, FL; a son, Richard James Skeen of Winfield, IL; a sister, Thelma Thompson of Gorham, ME; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Resurrection Episcopal Church, 667 Mount Road, Aston, PA 19014 or to St. Lawrence Episcopal Church, 125 West Church Street, Libertyville, IL 60048.
