Sigrid Rosemarie Spangenberg, 82, wife of John Brand Spangenberg, died Friday, March 7th, 2025, at her home.
Born in Germany, she was the daughter of the late Wilhelm and Lina Schroter. A loving wife, a devoted mother, and a beacon of creativity and passion.
Sigrid began her journey as a switchboard operator for the U.S. Army in Germany, but her heart was destined for many more vibrant adventures. After making her way to the United States, she gracefully transitioned to entrepreneurship, opening two salons: "Mequon Hair Square" in Milwaukie and "Sigrid of Germany Hair and Nails" in Vero Beach, Florida. With her welcoming smile and expert hands, she transformed both hair and the spirits of countless clients.
Sigrid was not only a successful businesswoman but also a performer at heart. In her early years, she dazzled audiences as an accomplished singer and burlesque dancer, even earning the title of "Miss Germany." Her vivacious personality filled every room, and she embraced life with an infectious enthusiasm that inspired all who knew her.
She was a gourmet cook, weaving her love into every dish. Sigrid's family will forever reminisce about the unforgettable meals she prepared, especially her famed Pork Roast and Spaetzle that brought everyone together at the table. Sigrid had a passion for travel that allowed her to regularly revisit her roots in Germany, exploring the beauty of her homeland while creating cherished memories with her husband, Brand. She was a loving, devoted wife to her husband Brand, sharing a bond that was a true testament to love and partnership.
Surviving is her loving husband, Brand Spangenberg; son Andy Haertlein (Linda); stepdaughters, Beth Spangenberg, and Jill Spangenberg; granddaughter, Kailey Ann Meadows; brothers, Manfred Schroter (Rose), and Werner Schroter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Frank Meadows, and brother Gunter Schroter.
