Marion Cecil "Simp " Simpson, 94, of 1912 Airport Road, died Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Hospice House. Born in Greenwood, he was the son of the late Clyde and Willie Estelle Maddox Simpson. Cecil was a U. S. Navy veteran having served during WWII in both the Atlantic and South Pacific Theaters. He received six battle stars, Silver Star and Bronze Star. Cecil was a lifetime V. F. W. member having been with Anderson Post 5996 and American Legion Post 0123 of Lexington, GA. He was also a member with the Masonic Lodge #358, Hejaz Shrine Temple, Greenwood Moose Lodge and Woodman of the World #23. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Herman Simpson, Marshall Simpson, Doris Dorn and Sarah Jones. Surviving are two nephews, Larry P.
