Stanley Robert McElrath, 71, of 223 Forest Lane, died Thursday, December 8, 2016.
Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Grady Paul and Cecil Ouzts McElrath. He was retired from Monsanto/Solutia and was a member of North Side Baptist Church. Stan was a member of Star Fort National Golf Club and was an avid Gamecock fan. He was deeply devoted to his children and grandchildren.
Surviving are his daughters, Tarah Smith (Kelly) and Julie Maldonado (Richie), both of Simpsonville; his brother, John McElrath of Greenwood; grandchildren, Curren Smith and Carson Smith, both of Charleston, Jake Kellett, Mia Kellett and Sammy Maldonado, all of Simpsonville; and his best friend since childhood, Doyle McBride of Columbia.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with former USC team chaplain, Adrian Despres, officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Carson Smith, Shawn McElrath, Shane McElrath, Jim Roark, Larry Roark and Corporal W. Cody Bishop.
Honorary escort will be Banks Bishop.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12 noon to 2 p.m.
